The vCase3 is no ordinary HTPC case. Unlike your typical media center chassis, this baby is specifically engineered by VidaBox from scratch to deliver the best possible features and cooling performance one could ask for from a chassis. A work in progress for over a year, vCase3 is the ONLY HTPC chassis that packs so many features into a compact, yet stylish case, such as:


Tons of HDD space:
We dare you to find another "short height" HTPC case that has 3 HDD bays, a full sized optical drive bay, AND a built in card reader! (If you find one, let me know! We couldn't find one to buy, which is why we designed and built our own!)

Fully featured front panel:
Card readers are important for the WAF (wife approval factor), so this chassis had to have one. USB ports are important as well. For those of you wondering where the FireWire port is, we decided not to add one since it is getting phased out. (From what we can tell, most motherboards don't even come with it anymore.) Front Mic/Headphone jack don't make sense and never did for an HTPC.. Thus, which is why we only have the 2 USB ports & the card reader, for a clean, professional look!

Keep other part costs down:
Full size optical drives are important to keep costs down. Many short-height cases use slimline drives to keep more HDD space inside - but have you seen how much a slimeline Blu-ray drive is vs. a full size one? This case lets you take advantage of sub-$70 full sized Blu-ray drives!

Efficient Heat/thermal transfer:
With its reduced height, heat removal is extremely important in these types of cases. If you look at a Denon®, Marantz®, or other high quality receiver, you'll notice the same perforation/opening patterns compared to this case. Why reinvent the wheel? This styling also makes your AV equipment look consistent with the rest of your setup!

Quiet performance - minimal fan noise:
We strategically placed a fan right by the front area w. (2x) HDDs. Via natural convection through the top openings, and in concert with the PSU in the back, this is really the only fan it needs to get enough air through the system. If one wants even quieter performance, they can always replace this fan with an even quieter one, or just run it without a fan if only 1 HDD was placed here instead.

Zero vibration noise via rubberized HDD/optical drive suspension:
All HDDs and optical drives have rubber screws to isolate/suspend the drives in mid-air, deadening the vibrations. All the screws and hardware you need are included.

Tool-less HDD/ODD mounting:
As a side benefit of using specialized rubber screws, we we also able to design the case in such as way to allow easy mounting of the drives. No screw drivers needed if you want to swap a HDD or ODD quickly!

Use any standard ATX power supply
With the vCase3's clever design, you're not restricted to using your favorite power supply. Look at some other short height cases, and you'll quickly notice that you absolutely cannot use a PSU with a large 135mm, and have to go with a noisier PSU with a side/rear mounted 80mm fan instead. vCase solves this problem with its unique, high-end looking ventilation top grille.


With all of these features in a single chassis - why would you want anything less? Remember - your parts may get replaced over time as things age, need upgrades, or break, but this metal baby can (almost) last forever in your setup!
