VidaBox vWHS's DualRip™ function, you can enjoy your CD collection with:
- full lossless/high fidelity archivals (FLAC, lossless WMA, WAV)
- full compatibility with iPod® or any other portable music player (MP3)
Unless conventional servers that rip only in (1) format, VidaBox vWHS offers DualRip™ support where you can archive once in a fully lossless/HiFi format, and also generate another copy in a universally compatible format like MP3.
Like Drop-n-Rip™, it's all automatically - just drop the disc in, and go!

| True RAID Protection |
|
True RAID Protection is a part of the VidaSafe™ suite of technologies that prevents server downtime due to hard drive failures. These features are modeled after the same technologies in use and standardized in servers and systems running 24/7 at various enterprises and Fortune500 companies. Some of the components that allow this to be possible are:
- True RAID5/6 on select VidaBox servers (RackServer & RACK24)
Using actual, dedicated RAID controllers, VidaBox prevents customer's data from being lost in the event of a hard drive failure. Unlike software-based or "fake" RAID, dedicated controllers provide a much higher level of data protection to make sure your priceless photos, videos, and memories are NOT lost.
- Enterprise-level hard drives
Unlike consumer level hard drives that are designed for cost, VidaBox uses only enterprise-level hard drives in RAID-protected server builds, providing a much higher record of uptime and reliability.
- 24/7 storage array auto-monitoring
In the event of a hard drive failure, an email is automatically sent to VidaBox alerting the error condition, allowing immediate action to take place. As mentioned, even with a drive failure, your systems stays up and running, and is available for continual use until it can be serviced. Nothing needs to be done by the customer - it's all automatic!

By combining true RAID5 & our unique vWHS operating system, VidaBox servers achieve an unparallel level of service, reliability and performance. Not only can users enjoy a higher than 99.9% uptime rating, but you can expect to have fast, uninterrupted AV streams on demand, whether it be Blu-ray, DVD, or music.
On RAID-ready systems, the final video and audio maximum throughput is greatly increased, providing support for more than 10 simultaneous high definition AV streams. For example, a single RACK24 system can be configured to output up to 25-30+ DVD streams and 13-15+ Blu-ray streams, without any stuttering, playback delays, or performance degradation.

Can I mix and match VidaBox
media centers w. non-VidaBox
media extenders and servers?
Since VidaBox media center are engineered for use with other VidaBox equipment, use of other non-VidaBox media centers will not yield optimal performance.
For example, non-VidaBox extenders generally do not stream DVDs, Blu-rays, or have a compromised feature set. These are not limitations set by VidaBox, and for the best experience, using VidaBox equipment is a must.
