Q: How do the built-in IR ports work?
A: There are (7) onboard 3.5mm ports on the rear of the LiivController. These ports can be configured for IR blasting (output) or to work with sensors (input).
Q: Does the system supports Macros?
A: Absolutely - you can easily tie buttons on any iOS interface and have them launch multiple IR, RS-232, or IP commands from a single click (more info to come!)
Q: How do I set which ports are IR blasters and which are sensor ports?
A: This is all configurable within the LiivController's configuration software (more on this topic to come!)
Q: What if I need more than (7) IR ports?
A: You can add an additional ZoneXpander unit, or add a new Global Cache device - we're natively compatible with all Global Cache GC-100-XX series devices.
Q: Which sensors can I use with LiivController?
A: At launch time, we'll be compatible with the following Global Cache sensors:
- GC-SP1 Voltage Sensor
- GC-SC1 Contact Closure Sensor
- GC-SV1 Video Sensor
In the near future (Q4), we'll be compatible with the following Xantech sensors - these parts will require an additional (very small) hardware box for compatibility:
- CSM1 Current Sensor Module
- SMAUD01 Audio Sensor Module
- SMCC01 Contact Closure Sensor Module
- SMLIT01 Led and Light Sensor Module
- SMMAG01 Magnetic Sensor Module
- SMVID01 Video Sensor Module
- SMVLT01 AC / DC Sensor Module
Q: How does the IR Learner work?
A: Every LiivController includes a built-in IR learner in the front of the unit, which can be used in conjunction with our configuration software to learn new IR codes from most new devices. Alternatively, you can also copy-n-paste HEX codes as well into the system.
Q: Do you sell or license the vAutomation software separately, without the LiivController?
A: No. You must buy the whole box.
Q: When will the LiivController be coming out?
A: Its scheduled release is at / after the CEDIA EXPO show, which is in September!
