Default Field Marquee Text

I've realized that when using the field marquee text widget, everything on the vPad "locks up". Is there a work around for it?

That doesn't sound right. I use field marquees all the time with no issue. Could you give me more detail on what your are doing? How many field marquees? What type of template is it, overlay, pop-up, etc? What field you are working with? The more detail you give me, the more I can help. Does this only happen on the vPad? Do you get the same problem when you display the template on the RackServer? Are you sure this isn't a wireless issue?

Hey Steve,

After your reply to my post I started testing different possible causes to the locking up of the screen when the field marquee is on. And strangely enough, it actually turned out to be an issue with me setting the background to "size to fit". In fact, everything slows down when I set the background "size to fit" (macros, commands, etc.) I don't know if this glitch is already known, but if not it might be a good idea to post it on a more universal thread for other installers to watch out for.

I think I went over this in the training but in general, you never want to size an image to fit on the templates. Especially on a large background image. The graphics chip is not that powerful on the touchscreens so it can't keep up with the updates needed to resize the image with every screen change. You should always size the image to fit the size you need in CQC in photoshop and then import that resized image instead. That way, the image doesn't need to be resized with every minor screen update which is what is happening with the marquee. The marquee updates too frequently and the graphics can't keep up.
