not sure how that would help. I need a method to transmit IR to a local device. If the VS70 can't transmit that IR, the instantation method wouldn't matter (manual button press or via CQC)

That's what I meant send a comand to the S70 to tell it to send an IR code.

ah. I thought Sergio said the issue was that the S70 can't transmit a desired IR code, not the method of instantiating the command.

I'm thinking something like you program the IR commands you want to blast out as a macro in Nevo studio pro. Then there would be a special command in CQC that would be called and the Nevo would call the local macro and then you would get the desired result. I could probaly add it as a hack but I'm not sure when I could get to that. I have an idea and could probably do it all without a change from Dean's side but I would really need a couple of people needing this feature. Sorry Vivek, one person is not enough. If I have time, I'll try to squeeze it in.

I also have to add info to the first post on what wave files are preloaded if you want to play a sound when a button is clicked.

The part I don't quite get is how this isn't standard Nevo fxnlty via StudioPro. According to their spec sheet:

Quote:
In addition to IR, NevoS70 has 2 independent RF technologies (Z-Wave and WiFi) for best in class operations for reliable A/V control and advanced system control.
A remote that can't transmit IR to a local component without a base station seems odd, but perhaps i'm misunderstanding something.

No sweat, don't do it on my account, i've got that USBUIRT coming as a workaround as my server room is nearly directly below the TV so I just need a 25' emitter cable.

If a dealer asks, then obviously that's another story.

The remote itself has IR blasting and learning capabilities built-in. The remote can also act as a z-wave controller directly. The base station is only needed if you want to be completely wireless on the remote and have the base station blast out the IR.

Apologies, not following. If it has IR blasting capabilities built-in, can't I just use that and bypass CQC for a few hardbuttons to turn the TV on/volume up & down? I assume I'd have to use the Nevo StudioPro to do the learning and map to hardbutton to blast.

The issue is that when the RIVA plugin loads into the Nevo, it takes complete control of the button presses on the remote. So the "Nevo" software never sees the button presses and would never know to fire the IR. We have to build that functionality into the RIVA plugin if we want to leverage the built-in Nevo control capabilities. I think it's a worthwhile feature and I might add it at some point.

I updated the first post with information about how to play the built-in wav files to provide button press feedback if desired.
