Default SqueezeBox and IR control questions

Question/comments from one of our dealers:

Sergio,

I got the USBUirt and the GC-100 to work. The USBUirt is reading the IR commands from my cable box remote and adjusts the volume of the receiver. This way they can use the cable box remote if they want and still control the receiver. It is very cool.

The GC-100 is sending IR out, but haven't tested it to read in. However, from my reading, the RS323 doesn't work with CQC. Is that true?

I will keep plugging away. The Squeezebox demo is very impressive and I would like to get it working this week. I got the squeezebox working and am trying to get it working with CQC. I will keep you posted.

The RS232 ports on the GC100 are supported by using a program to create virtual RS232 ports that are connected via IP. So you'll need to use a com port redirector program mapped to the IP address of the GC100 and port of the RS232 port you are interested in using. Port 1 of the GC100 is lan port 4999, port 2 is 5000, etc. Here is the link to the COM port redirector program from Lantronix: http://www.vidabox.com/Forum Linked ...s/red32bit.exe
