Issue:
A) On fresh installs, the Netflix icon appears on the Media Center interface automatically after a valid internet connection is detected, and is supposed to allow installation of the Netflix feature, but returns an error.
OR -
B) The system may be initially set up without a valid internet connection, causing the icon to not appear, and Netflix needs to be manually installed.
Cause: For Issue A, the auto-generated link is 'broken,' preventing Netflix installation. For Issue B, the system requires an active internet connection for Netflix, and without said connection, the icon will not appear.
Resolution: For either issue, we can manually force Netflix to be installed with these two simple steps:
1. Install the "Netflix for Media Center" Package here:
http://vidabox.com/netflix/(1)Install_Netflix_InWindowsMediaCenter.exe
2. Update Silverlight to the latest version (for DRM) here:
http://vidabox.com/netflix/(2)Install_Silverlight.html
This process takes about 2-3 minutes to complete from start to finish.
