Overview : The Design Requirements/Features
In this design, VidaBox was sought to provide a massive, large scale AV matrix switching system in conjunction with a complete, integrated control system for lighting, security, and other to-be-added subsystems like irrigation, pool/spa controls. To provide for all of these amenities, vAutomation was used at the center core of this entire system.
Understanding these uncompromising requirements, the engineers at VidaBox developed and designed the following system with these key components::
- ADA Suite 16 w. (2) P-16 and (1) HDTV-16 card for AV matrix switching
- CentraLite lighting control w. full vAutomation integration
-
LG TVs for video, which are controllable via RS-232 (w. 2-way feedback)
- Surround sound receivers, also controllable via RS-232
By using these core components, you can deliver & your client can enjoy:
- 1-touch AV source switching for ALL 16 video and 32 audio zones:
- From any HD video (VidaBox, Cable/Sat) or audio (iTunes, radio, etc) source...
- ..to any location with a TV/speakers, or listen to video feeds in areas without a TV
- Using the same set of speakers, provide
- Multiple streams of synchronizable ("party mode") video in any number of zones
- Support surround sound and analog 2.0 stereo sound by simply adding a receiver.

Customization: Is it scalable/expandable?
Have a castle or mansion you need to support? Not a problem. VidaBox vAutomation designs are extremely scalable -- simply expand upon this design by implementing additional hardware as follows:
Audio Distribution:
- Shrinking the design: Please see design example 1, which is for up to 15 audio zones [Click here].
- Enlarging the design: For even larger projects where more than 16 inputs are needed, simply specify and use an ADA Omega CB system. The system will then support 32 independent digital audio coaxial inputs; standard 2.0 analog stereo sources will need to be converted into digital coax. Please contact us to discuss this setup further.
Video Distribution:
- Shrinking the design: Please see design example 1, which is for up to 6 video zones [Click here].
- Enlarging the design: To increase the number of video inputs, upgrade the Suite16's HDTV-16 card into a full fledged Omega CB system, which can support up to 32 independent component HD video input feeds.
